Passwords are supposed to provide us with security and privacy, but if they get out of control, passwords can also cause severe headaches. My e-mail account password, my Windows user password, my PC's BIOS password, my favourite forums' passwords… Arrgghh! And as your list of passwords expands, it is very likely that some will start to slip off your memory. Many people face this problem as it isn’t easy to memorize several lengthy eight-character combinations of letters and numbers.
In this part of my article, I’m going to hand you a list of master passwords that can help you access your PC in case you forget your BIOS password. Hope you can make use of this list responsibly. A BIOS password is a password which you need to enter right after turning on your PC before your OS starts up. Using BIOS passwords is a good way to totally lock up your computer from newbies and average kids. If you happen to forget your BIOS password, you could try entering the following passwords one at a time and you might be lucky enough to find a suitable password depending on your BIOS manufacturer and version. Make sure you pay attention to upper and lower case letters. The list is sorted according to BIOS manufacturers.

Notes:
For Toshiba laptops, holding down the left shift key during boot might bypass the BIOS password.
For IBM Aptiva, holding down both mouse buttons until the computer boots might clear the BIOS information.
